Technology has become vitally important to us in many ways, and dentistry is no exception. We're pleased to bring our patients technology that improves their dental experience in every way – providing comfort, efficiency, and outstanding results. If you haven't visited a modern dentist office recently, get ready for some exciting changes!
Digital X-Rays & Sensors
If you’ve visited a dental office recently, you may have noticed a difference in the way we take x-rays. Today we’re pleased to offer our patients safe, effective digital x-rays (radiography).
You may wonder what the difference is since digital x-rays look and work so much like traditional x-rays. However, the noticeable difference between the two is that we use a digital sensor instead of old-fashioned x-ray. This sensor is not only more comfortable for you, it also connects electronically to a computer. The x-ray is taken in just a few seconds, and then the digital image is projected onto a computer monitor near your dental chair.
The images produced by this technology allow us to view the most minute details inside your teeth. This view gives you a better understanding of the problem, as well, so you can better understand the need for the treatment we recommend.
Digital x-rays are also safer for your health than traditional film x-rays because they reduce your exposure to radiation by approximately 90%.
TVs in Treatment Rooms
We love our patients, and we’re proud that we've established an excellent rapport with them over the years.
At Brazos Dental Associates, we make your comfort our number one priority. Dental care is essential, but it doesn’t have to be stressful. That’s why we do whatever we can to make your time with us as enjoyable as possible.
When you’re under our care, we encourage you to do whatever it takes to stay comfortable. If you’d like to listen to music, go ahead and bring your phone. We’re pleased to offer TVs in all our treatment rooms so you can watch your favorite shows during your procedure. You’d be surprised how quickly an appointment can go by with a little visual distraction!
One example of the state-of-the-art new technology we use today at Brazos Dental Associates is an intraoral camera.
For years, dentists have relied on visual exams and x-rays to identify and diagnose potential problems. Both are still a valuable part of our preventive and diagnostic services. But intraoral cameras provide you and your dentist with highly detailed images that we can view together. Dr. Rychetsky directs a small camera (about the size of a pen) around your mouth to reveal precise images that we can then share with you on a chairside computer monitor.
Have you ever wondered exactly what your dentist sees? We now have the ability to show you what we see in great detail. Sharing images with you on a computer monitor helps you understand what the problem is, how it is affecting your tooth, and steps we can take to fix the problem. The intraoral camera is efficient, comfortable, and results in more accurate diagnoses.
